Florida Humanities and the Clewiston Museum presents Lu Vickers in Lu Vickers and Cypress Gardens: America’s Tropical Wonderland.” This free presentation features an Ivintage photographs and videos that illustrate the story of Cypress Gardens, the worldfamous tourist attraction created out of swampland in central Florida by Dick Pope. Pope, known as the “man who invented Florida,” combined a water ski show, tropical gardens, and iconic Southern Belles to create Florida’s reputation as the land of sun and fun from the 1930s into the early 2000s

Jois un on Saturday, February 22, 2024 at 5:00 pm for the museum's largest fundraiser of the year, the Annual BBQ Steak Dinner. This year's event will be at the Swindle Barn, and will feature a delicous steak dinner, beer & wine, a raffle, a $500 cash door prize, and singer/songwriter Chris Kahl in "A Musical Journey Through Florida." It's sure to be a great evening!
